• From River Bend Park to Great Falls (Virginia side)-- it's a  beautiful hike. 

• When? Labor Day, September 2, 2024 at 10am until whenver we feel like stopping

• Where? River Bend Park in Great Falls, Virginia  

• What about food? Pack what you like and bring it!

• What else do i need to bring? Water, sunscreen, boots if you want (sometimes there's mud). And don't forget your lunch. 

• Rain or Shine! cancelation only if thunder with lightning is forecast - you'll get a text if you've RSVP'd

• Rating: it's an easy out-and-back hike, partly paved, great views

• Dogs and kids welcome accompanied by you!

Look for us: We'll be in the parking lot just down from the Visitor's Center, on the right, closest to the river. Be sure to RSVP so we can know who to look for. If you text that you'll be within 10 min late, we'll wait, but then head out. You’ll be able to catch up.

We're going to the upper reaches of Rock Creek Park on a Sunday afternoon this time.

We'll meet at the Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium off of Military Road in NW DC, hike an hour to the Parkway Deli, refuel and head back. Join us for any or all of it!

Hope you can come! Bring friends and come ready for a good hike: appropriate clothes, water and some cash for lunch. It's an easy hike (a few hills but mostly pretty flat), very beautiful and not heavily traveled.
