Ammon and Amy have lived and worked in the DMV since 2012 and 2007 (respectively).
Ammon works at the Securities and Exchange Commission for Commissioner Hester Peirce, covering crypto, corporate finance, and accounting. He was previously Counsel for capital markets on the Senate Banking Committee under Ranking Member Pat Toomey. He also served as Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to the General Counsel of the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (HUD) in the Trump Administration and was previously Banking Counsel for Senator Ben Sasse. Ammon has a J.D. from Columbia Law School and graduated from Wheaton College (IL) with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics.
Amy worked in higher education, nonprofits, and federal government consulting prior to a senior political appointment at the US Department of Labor. After government, she launched her own consulting firm (Simon Advisory LLC) where she specializes in unemployment insurance policy. She is a graduate of Grove City College and the UMD School of Public Policy.
They live in southeast DC and attend Christ our Shepherd Church.
