Searching for God’s Path
I’m just back from a 6-month sabbatical - a rest, a quiet space for my whole self, 6 months! Who gets to do that? It was off-the-charts wonderful. And I learned more about hearing from the Lord—- it had to do with my understanding of asking. Let’s talk about it.
Here’s a little more about me:
Always a lover of complexity and the DC area, I’ve lived here all my life. I started working with people in their 20s with the launch of the Falls Church Fellows Program where young people spend a year learning to follow God more closely, allowing Him access to all areas of their lives.
After Fellows, I served the Federal government as a consultant, helping agencies to move knowledge between the senior leaders and the junior ones with formal mentoring programs.
In 2010 I joined the work of The Navigators, generally known for campus ministry. They serve people of all ages all over the globe. Anyway, they were taking a fresh look at how they were locating and coming alongside people in their 20s in different cities. My work is to provide spiritual help and guidance as people in DC settle into a new, more complex life.
I have been married to George Patterson, a practicing ophthalmologist, for 16 years. Between us we have 6 grown children and 4 grandsons. Chaotic but good.
We hope you can join us.
We'll have plenty of coffee and bacon. If you'd like to bring a favorite food to share, that would be good, too! And thanks! If it's your first time being with us, don't bring anything -- just come--we're excited to meet you!
Masks at this point are not required, but are welcomed per your comfort level.
When: Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:30 am until whenever. Can’t wait to see you!
Yes, I’m the City Leader for Navigators 20s/30s in DC. Glad to be back.
