Living out the gospel in close quarters - housemates? spouses? family? coworkers?

Louise Brooks is Director of Kids’ Small Groups at Restoration Anglican Church in Arlington, Virginia: From the time I was born, I have spent years making my way from one coast to the other.  My early years were spent in California, elementary and high school years landed us in Wisconsin and Rhode Island, and for college I packed my bags for Mount Holyoke in Massachusetts.  So, it only makes sense that I flew south to Washington, D.C. right after graduation – it was, after all, a place I’d never lived before!  As God would have it, I met my husband, Steve, the first day I moved to town.  We’ve been married since 1992 and many years later, our daughter Grace made us a trio.  I have loved this collaboration, as we daily live out what it is to both give and receive love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. I am trained as an educator, having taught at the preschool, elementary and graduate levels in both public school and Christian ministry. It is what God made me to do, and I am deeply grateful.

Steve Brooks is President of Potomac Associates LLC based in Arlington, Virginia: I have lived in the Washington, D.C. area for 32 years.  I am a business consultant and executive coach and spent many years working in consulting, political and public policy campaigns, lobbying, Capitol Hill and association management. I am a native of Manitou Springs, Colorado, where I worked for my dad's furniture refinishing business and worked in housing construction while attending college at the Colorado State University - Pueblo. I was a volunteer firefighter and first-responder while in college and spent time in the rodeo world where I competed in bull riding, bareback riding and team roping. I am an avid runner and compete in the Pikes Ascent half marathon or Pikes Peak Marathon every August in my hometown. My passions in life are God, the Church and my family.  I am a postulant for permanent deacon in the Anglican Church of North America.  Through my work and life experiences, my vocational passion is to work with organizations and individuals to help foster positive change and growth.
